Bob is currently the Help Desk Manager for Benevis. He is responsible for the internal customer support and maintenance. Bob’s career started at Jackson EMC as System Operator, then Programmer/Analyst. When desktop computers became the trend he began helping employees desk-side. That process evolved into a new position; he became the company’s first end user support analyst. After 12 years there he moved to Atlanta and became the Help Desk Manager for the Woodruff Arts Center serving their divisions from the High Museum of Art to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. In 2009 he entered the realm of healthcare with Visiting Nurse Health Systems. After 2 years there he moved to work in the corporate office of NCDR.
Throughout Bob’s nearly 25 years of experience in IT he has remained an advocate for end users; searching for ways to improve their experience and productivity through technology. He earned a BBA from GA College and State University and an MBA from Brenau University. He currently holds the HDI Support Center Manager certification.
He continues to work with the SE Region of HDI where he currently serves as Regional Director. He also previously served as VP of Sponsorships and Secretary. He was awarded the 2012 Officer of the Year award from the SE Region.
Jamie is currently the Director of Application Support at SignUp4, LLC where he is responsible for the support and client relationship of their customers in the travel community. With his first professional job as the only support analyst for a young software company in Michigan, Jamie has worked in many industries such as Apparel/Textile, Dental, Medical, Consumer Products Goods, Travel and Education. Even though he has worked in diverse industries, he has always held positions serving customers through his greatest passion, technical support. Jamie has 20+ years of technical support experience for which 15+ are in management. He earned a BSBA degree from Central Michigan University and a MBA from Kennesaw State University. He holds HDI certifications as a Certified Support Center Manager and Knowledge-Centered Support Principles, as well as, Danaher Business Systems as Master Black Belt in Transactional Process Improvement. Jamie has been a member of HDI since 2000 and active volunteering with HDI Atlanta since 2008.
David Chism is the Director of Practice Management Support at Carestream Dental, LLC. He has worked in the support industry for 12 years and has been a member of HDI for the last 7 years. In 2006, David volunteered for the leadership committee and was tasked with helping with the HDI Atlanta website. Later in the year, he was asked to become the Webmaster of HDI Atlanta. Upon assuming the webmaster role, he completely re-designed the website to what you see today. David earned his B.S. in Technical Management from Southern Polytechnic State University and is a certified Help Desk Manager (STI).
Krista is currently the Director of Service Desk Operations for Intelliteach, where she is responsible for a team of about 130 individuals. These individuals provide service desk support to law firms throughout the US and abroad. With over 19 years in the Support and Service industry, Krista has worked in the capacity of a Technical Support Analyst, Trainer, Support Manager and in Operations. She has a B.A. in Organizational Communications and a Certificate in Business Leadership. She is a certified Help Desk Director (STI) and has a certificate from the Dale Carnegie Leadership for Managers Program. Krista is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Krista has been involved with HDI Atlanta for over five years helping in various capacities and served as the VP of Programs as well as President. The support industry is something that she is passionate about and she brings that passion to HDI Atlanta.
Darien Chimoff, President Emeritus
Darien Chimoff has 20 years of Service Desk management experience and is Senior IT Manager – Help Center for Alston + Bird LLP, a 2000-employee law firm with eight offices in the U.S. At Alston + Bird Darien re-engineered the “helpless desk” into a well-respected service desk with a focus on providing a demanding customer base with world class customer support. The A+B Help Center has won awards for STI Team of the Year – Best People (2002) and HDI Global Help Desk Analyst of the Year (Sheri Robertson in 2006).
Darien has served as Co-founder and Past President of HDI Atlanta and HDI Southeast Region Director, and was the 2010-2011 Chair for HDI’s Member Advisory Board where she led the direction of the HDI Local Chapters. Darien has spoken at the HDI national conference and other industry events on a variety of topics related to world-class support. Darien is a seasoned industry professional that has achieved the certifications of Help Desk Manager, Help Desk Director, ITIL Foundations and Knowledge Management.
Vicki Nielsen has been in the Help Desk industry for 15+ years and has served as the HDI Atlanta Vice President of Finance for the past 3 years. Prior to holding this position, she served as Secretary of HDI Atlanta for 3 years. Vicki is currently employed at GXS where she manages a Help Desk supporting supply chain communication products and services used by more than 20,000 companies over a wide range of industries and markets across the globe.
Tamika Harrigan is a manager in the Dental Division of Carestream Dental, LLC. She has also managed teams in the Oral Surgery and Orthodontic Divisions. She has worked in the support industry for 13 years. She has a Bachelor’s of Information Technology.
Jenifer Mauney began her career as a recruiter with Robert Half International in 2000 in the Columbus, Ohio office. She has held several roles with increasing responsibility, including Account Executive, Division Director and Branch Manager in the Ohio, Kansas City and Charlotte offices. In 2008, Jenifer then served as Vice President for the company’s Robert Half Technology division, where she was responsible for staff training and business development for the division’s Eastern Operations. In 2009, she served as Vice President for Robert Half Technology responsible for business development for Regional/National clients for the division’s Eastern Operations. From the end of 2009 until April of 2012, Jenifer’s position was Metro Market Manager where she oversaw the operations for the Robert Half Technology and The Creative Group Divisions in Atlanta. Jenifer’s most recent position is Vice President for Strategic Accounts where she assists in the expansion of existing and development of new business for Robert Half’s National Accounts team. Prior to joining the company, Jenifer spent six years in the technical industry, including working for a technology training company and a total solutions consulting firm.
Jenifer has presented a variety of career and staff development topics to organizations including the International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners, HDI and the Association of Information Technology Professionals. She has been a member of HDI since 2005 in Kansas City, Charlotte and joined the Atlanta Chapter and board in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
Susan Sturgess has been in the Information Technology field since 1996 and is currently a Support Center Manager at Jackson Healthcare, a national healthcare staffing company. The company also provides technology solutions to enable hospital efficiency. Her team consists of a group of highly motivated and dedicated IT professionals.
Susan has been a member of HDI since 2010 after she received her HDI Support Center Manager Certification. She began volunteering on the Leadership Board in 2011 and became Vice President of Communications in 2012. Susan recently graduated from Northeastern University with her master’s degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication with a specialization in Leadership and also holds her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. Originally from New York, Susan currently resides in Alpharetta with her husband.
Brant has over 14 years of experience in Information Technology and Desktop Support, and is currently Team Lead and Support Center Specialist for the Technology Group at Jackson Healthcare in Alpharetta, GA. Previously, Brant served as a Team Lead and Desktop Support Manager for EMS Technologies in Norcross.
Brant holds numerous industry certifications, including KCS Foundations, ITIL Foundations, HDI Support Center Analyst, HDI Support Center Team Lead, MCP and Net+. He has been a member of HDI since 2006, and in 2010 he was the only desktop support technician chosen to serve on HDI’s inaugural Desktop Support Advisory Board. Brant began volunteering on the HDI Atlanta Leadership Board in 2013 and became Co-Vice President of Communications in 2014.
Brant earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Louisiana College, and a Master’s degree in Communications from the University of Louisiana, Monroe. Originally from Louisiana, Brant currently resides in Buford with his wife and 9-year-old son.
Rollie is an accomplished professional with experience in management (including performance, productivity and staffing), business development, finance and operations. He is currently employed by Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA as the Service Desk Manager. Rollie is highly skilled in providing both leadership and organizational effectiveness to equip his centralized staff to deliver operational and technical support to decentralized locations. Floyd Medical Center is the largest employer in Floyd County, with more than 2,000 staff members and 300+ physicians serving the surrounding counties in both northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama. Floyd ranks #27 among the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, by Best Companies Group and Modern Healthcare.
Rollie enjoys training, developing and mentoring new talent. He believes that being part of improving the lives of others and mentoring them as they grow to reach their full potential while continuing to meet new and exciting challenges is the greatest reward.
Rollie studied at the University of Kennesaw, and has since earned many awards and certificates in related studies. He has been an active member of HDI since 2010, serving on various committees for the past two years. He has achieved certification as an HDI Support Center Director and ITIL Foundations.
Shaun Austin has 3 years in the staffing industry as an IT Recruiter, currently as a Senior Technical Recruiter for aquesst, a local Atlanta based startup IT search firm that provides talent on a contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire basis in addition to offering project based solutions.
Shaun began his career with Robert Half International where he held roles as a Technical Recruiter, Senior Technical Recruiter, Division Director, and Recruiting Manager. During his tenure, his specialty was in IT staffing of help desk, desktop support, and other IT infrastructure support professionals on a contract and contract to hire basis.
Shaun became a member of the HDI Atlanta chapter in September of 2010 and a board member in spring 2011. He currently serves on the board as a Vice President in the role of Webmaster. Shaun graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Alabama.
Cary is currently the Director of Atlanta Operations for Brooksource, an IT staffing and recruiting firm headquartered in Indianapolis with 16 local markets across the U.S. Prior to opening Brooksource’s Atlanta market office in early 2011, Cary worked in a business development role for Brooksource in the greater Cincinnati area. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, and his MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Cary has been actively involved in HDI for several years, and joined the Atlanta board in 2012, where he is currently working to increase HDI Atlanta’s social media presence.
