HDI Atlanta cordially invites you to submit your nomination for the HDI Analyst of the Year, Desktop Support Technician of the Year, and Manager of the Year. The annual awards are one of the most valuable benefits of HDI membership, and attendance to the 17th Annual Award Gala at Villa Christina on January 11, 2018. All nominees and those who nominate them are considered honored guests and will receive a complimentary invitation. We have some very exciting news – this year you do NOT need to be an HDI member to be a nominator, a nominee or even a Winner!!

Q: Can I nominate someone if I am not a member of HDI?
A: YES!  New this year**

Q: How long does it take to nominate someone?
A: Nomination is completed on line by answering a few questions. This should take less than a 30 minute investment of your time.

Q: What are the requirements to nominate?
A: Desktop Support Technician of the Year:

    • The nominee must currently be working as a desktop support technician and must have a minimum of 6 months experience in their present job 
    • The nominee must provide actual desk side support. This award is not for supervisors or team leads, as it is focused on the person delivering the services.

Key selection criteria:

  • Customer Service 
  • Prioritization and Business awareness 
  • Resourcefulness and creativity 
  • Teamwork Technical aptitude and knowledge


A: Analyst of the Year:

  • At least one person from the company/site where this analyst works must be a member of HDI 
  • The nominee must currently be working as a tier 1 support analyst with at least 75% of their daily tasks related directly to direct customer tier 1 support and must have a minimum of 9 months experience for the past 12 months 
  • This award is not for supervisors as it is focused on the person delivering the services 
  • Any previous year Global winner in this competition is not eligible for subsequent nomination

A: Manager of the Year:

  • At least one person from the company/site where this analyst works must be a member of HDI 
  • Must have held their current management role for the past twelve months 
  • Must manage organizations that support any or all IT services 
  • Must be responsible for the strategic and tactical components of their organizations 


Submit the following to nominate

  • Letter of introduction 
  • Three written testimonials 
  • Recent headshot (electronic nominations only) 
  • Recorded video introduction (maximum length: 5 minutes) 


Q: Can I have nominees for both Analyst of the Year and Desktop Support Technician of the year from the same company?
A: Yes! There is a limit of two nominations per award per company and all nominations must be approved by the department manager.

Q: Can I nominate the same person for both Analyst of the Year and Desktop Support Technician of the year?
A: Unfortunately you cannot nominate the same person for both awards. Please review the criteria for each award to determine the best fit.
